Five Fun Family Vacation Activities Your Kids Will Love

I'm new to Twittermoms but can tell it's already going to be fun participating in the challenges and contests.  For my first Twittermom's challenge, I'm going to blog about five fun family activities your kids will love.  If you want to be a part of it, you can too here.  Although I don't have children yet, I'm expecting my first one and with all my siblings, I definitely know some fun activities for vacation.

  1. The beach is always fun for everyone and although I didn't grow up near a beach, I love the water and know that kids love the sand.  My sisters can play in the sandbox all day long.  The beach makes for an inexpensive trip too since all you have to do is get some drinks and food.  The recreation is all there for the taking.
  2. While I was growing up, my dad took us camping.  It was really a great way to have some family time when you are on a budget.  If you carefully choose the right campground, you can go fishing, go to the beach, hike the trails and so much more.  There is usually activities for all and a fun time to be had.
  3. Whenever we went on vacation, we would stop and play putt putt or visit the zoo.  Both provide hours of fun and some healthy competition unless you are playing with a sore loser.  It's another great way to have fun without spending a ton of money.
  4. Amusement parks and water parks is one of my favorite summer past times until I became pregnant.  It will still be fun but I will miss the roller coasters.  Amusement parks since they cater to all ages provides hours of fun and entertainment.
  5. Road trips to significant locations or historical places can be fun if you like history.  Living in the south provides a lot of history and a quick trip to Savannah would be educational and fun.  With the activities available in a local place in the summer, there is sure great fun to be had with tours, festivals and much more.  Road trips can be fun since they are places you have never been to before and they allow everyone to interact.

Expressiva Giveaway at Ruminations of a Twenty Something

Giveaway at Ruminations of a Twenty Something Momma and here are the details below.  Isn't this one cute?

After months of nursing a child, the idea of breastfeeding becomes less of an action and more of a lifestyle. Daily events start to revolve around your baby’s mealtimes, and leaving the house means choosing an outfit that will allow easy, comfortable access for feeding.

Therein lies the problem – coordinating clothing for ease of nursing isn’t always easy. Some women prefer to keep their breasts mostly covered, while others are more worried about exposing their back or stomach in public.

Layering works with some outfits, but not others, and wearing your favorite shirt may no longer be an option depending on how high (or low) the neckline is. Nursing bras and tanks become wardrobe staples, but sometimes it’s simply not possible to coordinate an entire outfit around these pieces.

What’s a frazzled nursing mama to do?

The answer (in this nursing momma’s opinion) is to invest in at least one or two functional (but pretty!) breastfeeding-friendly items – a few casual tops, maybe something dressy for special occasions. Having pieces that are nursing-specific makes a world of difference since the comfort and coverage are taken care of for you – all you need to do is get dressed and go!

Kelly's Cake Off for a Cause

Kelly Ripa and Electrolux has teamed up again with the help of MomSelect to spread the word on yet another great project that Kelly is heading up. Kelly's Cake Off for a Cause and accomplished master baker and cake decorator Buddy Valastro, from TLC's "Cake Boss," recently joined forces at a fun event to bake lavishly decorated cakes in support of The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). To add to the excitement, five teams of baking enthusiasts were invited to take part in Kelly's Cake Off, where they used what they learned from Kelly and the Cake Boss, to decorate their own cakes.

Here is where you come in to help raise fund for ovarian cancer. By visiting Kelly-Confidential.com, you can cast a vote for your favorite cake from Kelly's Cake Off.

For every vote cast, Electrolux will donate $1 to OCRF as part of its $500,000 commitment to help fight ovarian cancer! What a perfect way to show your special valentine your love as you can even decorate and send a special virtual cake to a friend, family member or someone you love. For every cake sent, Electrolux will donate another $1 to OCRF.

You can get involved here for a great cause.
